“Trans Ams are special to me because I was fascinated with them as a boy. The Trans Am is a muscle car that has always symbolized freedom to me, and I was definitely a little bit metal-head.”
Gerard Way – UsaToday.com – 2010
It mentions Gerard’s official blog post in which he requested a Trans Am for “research and exploration” purposes. The car was eventually found on Ebay and was restored by “car hunter” Dennis McCarthy, who has worked on movies such as “The Fast and the Furious” and “Death Race”. The custom paint job was done by Marc Dupre at Jack’s Auto Body and the engine work was by Damian Smith, both of Los Angeles.
