The My Chemical Romance action figures were released in November 2005. They are 4.75 inches high and each comes with their own coffin and red handgun.
Some special versions of the figures came with their own individual “Prayer Cards” designed by Gerard and some came with guitar plectrums.
The band felt that they should make the action figures as they grew up with action figures and comic books.
Nobody was really surprised when they found out we were getting action figures of ourselves. They were like, ‘Oh, finally.’
I think that was the goal of starting this band in the first place.
They’re very realistic. We’re wearing suits and we’ve got elbow joints. They’re really poseable and rad. You can make them do things like shake violently or save a cat from a tree.
I don’t think having a My Chemical Romance action figure will make a kid start his own band, I like to think it will make him save children from a burning building.
The zombie counterparts can be seen in the gallery.
