Bob Bryar

General Information

Robert “Bob” Bryar was born on December 31st 1979 and is the only member of My Chemical Romance that is not from New Jersey. There is not much information on Bob as he replaced Matt Pelisser to become the drummer in the band. Bob used to be a sound engineer for The Used and met My Chemical Romance on tour and he became friends with them. Bob had always wanted to be a drummer in a band and when Matt Pelisser was kicked out of the band Bob replaced him. The existing members of the band instantly got on with Bob and so he was to be the final member of My Chemical Romance.

Dixie Lawsuit

Dixie

Dixie

In June 2009 Bob filed a lawsuit against dog trainer Daniel Schaffer when his beloved dog Dixie passed away whilst in the trainers care.
Bob spent $7,500 in April 2009 to send his dog Dixie to Daniel Schaffer’s kennel for intense training to help the emotionally fragile, formerly abused rescue dog adjust to a new dog in the household. In the initial phone call Schaffer told Bob that Dixie was doing well and was “having a blast and partying all day”. About a week later Schaffer reported that Dixie had died during a collision when a drunk driver struck the vehicle in which Schaffer was carrying Dixie and other dogs.
Later that evening Schaffer called Bob again and told him that he would not be able to say goodbye to his pet Dixie as she had already being ‘cremated due to her condition’. Two days later Schaffer deliverd an urn containing Dixie’s remains.
Schaffer failed to produce a police report and then changed his story and said that Dixie had died in her sleep, then changed it again to say that Dixie died under other circumstances.

“I don’t even know what happened to my best friend and miss her more than anything in the world. The devastation I feel is beyond words.”

Departure

In late February 2009 notifiradio.com stated that Bob Bryar had been kicked out of My Chemical Romance because of an arguement between him and the rest of the band. On March 3rd 2009 Frank confirmed in a blog on their official website that Bob had indeed left the band.

“As of 4 weeks ago, My Chemical Romance and Bob Bryar parted ways. This was a painful decision for all of us to make and was not taken lightly. We wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors and expect you all to do the same.”
Frank Iero – March 3rd 2009 – MyChemicalRomance.com

Since joining My Chemical Romance in summer 2004, Bob has played drums on two of the bands studio albums and performed on countless world tours. We wish Bob Bryar all the best in the future. Information on Bob’s future projects will be added here when it becomes available.
